I recently ordered "Cracking The ACT 2012 edition" and was wondering if anyone ever used it & how successful was it for them ?

I don’t like their reading strategy.

I currently have it right now. And I love it. I will be taking the ACT in February and I really feel like it is helping me.

Yes. It is very helpful, and reputable. They know what they are doing

Okay Thank you !

I used “Dissecting The ACT 2.0” to raise my score from a 23 first time to a 27. I’ll be back in february to shoot for my dream score 30.

princeton review is great for the exercises and the information it gives on each section, but DO NOT use the practice tests at the back of the princeton review book. they make their own ACTs, but the book is great for everything else. i suggest buying that to get a hold of the material, and buying the REAL ACT on the side for the 5 ACTUAL ACTs that it has for practice.

Okay, I have the 2nd Edition of the Real Act Prep Guide, I only have one test left so I’ll order the 3rd edition for the extra 2 …

I am using it right now and so far its AMAZING. I tried using Barrons before the Princeton Review and it was unnecessarily hard and had WAY too much information, more than you need to know. That and it was hard to follow and boring to read. I can actually sit and read the Princeton Review (It tries to humor you). It is clear, concise and gets to the point (at least for English it does). Only thing I wish is that it had more practice in the book. I hear the practice tests are easier than the actual ACT, but that is what the red book is for. So far, I recommend this book over Barrons (too hard) Kaplan and McGraw Hill (too easy). Hope this helps.
