Hello everyone..I'm planning to take my first ACT test (+writing essay) on Oct. Can someone please tell me which prep. book I should use to prepare well? Some say Princeton Review's Cracking the ACT is good, and others say Real ACT Prep. Guide is better..or maybe I should get both? Haha..
Well, I'm really new to ACT (haven't looked though any except the practice test provided in ACT site) so I really need your help!

The most recommended books I have seen on this forum is Princeton Review for tactics and Real ACT for practice tests. My D used both and increased her score - she did not like the reading tips in PR (not reading the passages) - when she followed them her reading score dropped to the lowest of any time taking the test. Retook it and read the passages - got a 35 on reading.

i useed princeton's one...it didnt help...i used barrons one...it helped a lot just for the science section, and i did worse in all other sections in math (which stayed the same) and then i used the real act guide..that helped me a ton in every single section (including writing section..somehow)

i really liked the procrastinators guide to the act...i went up 3 points. it's good if you have a "decent" score and you want a "good/great" score. lots of handy tips and it's good if you're a good student/ don't have a lot of time

I used the 10 Practice tests from McGraw-Hill. Even though their tests are bound to be different from the actual ACT, doing the practice helps a lot because you can still pick out the areas where you're making your mistakes. It worked for me. I went from a 32 to 34.
