Is Quinnipiac University a good fit for me?

So, I just got into Quinnipiac University as a transfer student for the Spring 2012 Term. I am currently a Marylander, attending the University of Arizona, and strongly dislike this place. Besides it being too far from home, and too large (both my fault for not knowing what I wanted), I find that Greek Life rules the social scene, the dining halls are subpar, and the people are not what I want. Nothing against the West-Coast, but I feel like people from the East Coast/Northeast have a little more substance than the people I have seen as the UofA (that may go with the fact of going to such a large public school over a private school).

Anyway, Quinnipiac is currently my #1 school to transfer to, and I was wondering about the social scene there.

Do I need to be in a frat to actually have fun?

Do people at Quinnipiac have at least a little substance, and aren't nearly as superficial as what I have been dealing with?

Are a lot of the people at Quinnipiac's dimwits (granted, there are obviously going to be a few)?

People at the UofA tend to leave a lot on the weekend, as a majority of people are in-state. Is Quinnipiac a ghost-town on the weekends?

Is there anything about Quinnipiac that I should know, than I am not asking?

Thanks

I guess no one can really tell you if you’re going to like it until you are there but this is what I know:

-many of QU students are from the long island area, and new england. my friend goes there and says that there is absolutely no diversity and that its basically like high school all over again with a bunch of catty girls.

from what I understand much of the social scene is going out into the nearby town and going to bars

to be honest, my friend that goes there doesn’t come out and say she hates it but I know that she does want to come home every weekend, and does come home quite often and lives about three hours away

I almost went there and probably would have hated it for the fact that I’m not that type of person as mentioned above, but then again you can’t generalize every student at a university
