Is religion okay in my college essay?

I want to write an essay for the CA for the prompt:
Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there, and why is it meaningful to you?

I want to talk about baking and my Jewish Youth Group and how both connect me to my Jewish culture which makes me content. Is this okay or is religion a no-no here?

I think it’s okay. “Don’t talk about religion” means something more along the lines of “don’t talk about your views on particular religious beliefs/doctrines.” What you’re suggesting would be more about culture than religion.

Yes, go for it. Would be a sad day if you denied because of your beliefs

I would say go for it! For one of my essays I wrote about being a leader in the Youth ministry at my church and was accepted into all of the schools I applied to. It should be noted that it was not overly religious nor did I discuss doctrine/religious beliefs.

Would you really want to go to a school where your topic wasn’t OK?
