Is Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute good for Masters in Mechanical Engineering

I am an international student and I recently got admitted to the university. I am still in two minds about accepting the offer. The college seems like a good fit and but the tuition is pretty high. Can someone please tell me more about the college, its rankings for mechanical, the job opportunities and the general reputation of RPI in the industry. My concentration is Mechanical Design

Thanks in Advance.

Please reply. I really need help with this

You did not get this information before applying? It would have been prudent to evaluate RPI and other universities to see if they would be good fits for you given your interests and background.

I don’t know if anyone here will have this very specific information. You would be best off doing some quick internet research and then contacting RPI’s mechanical engineering department directly.

@Beaudreau I did research this before applying and the online reviews seem fantastic. The average salaries also seem good. Plus it matches with my research interests. However, being an international student, I wanted to get a perspective from someone who might know this better and understands the reputation of RPI in US. I just wanted a second opinion on whether the investment is worth while.

Anyone else with any suggestions or information?

You’re probably better off posting this in the engineering forum.

All I can say is that RPI is a well-regarded school in engineering circles, but how good it is for an individual is fairly impossible to answer. You’ve already said it was a good research fit, so that’s a good start.
