Hi! This May I took my AP exams and I received a 2 on my AP US history exam and a 3 on my Calculus BC exam. On the practice exams my teachers had given, I had received a 4s and 5s on both. I honestly believed I did better in my AP US history than my Calculus, so getting a 3 on Calculus did make me feel good. However, with that confidence I was hoping for a 4 on AP US. The due date for re-scoring is OCT 31st, so I still have time to send in my request. But is it really worth it to spend 30 bucks on both these exams to be re-scored? I don't mind comments. I just want a basic truth. Please do reply....anybody.....thank you!

anybody? wow ok…

Most of the time rescores don’t change anything. However, there is the odd case where half of your test is lost or something. I’d only try the rescore if you’re absolutely sure you did significantly better than the score you received.

I wouldn’t waste the money. Sometimes these things happen! But if you’re 110% sure something might’ve gone wrong, do it.

@Matt846 and @swimdeep Thank you! My parents are willing to spend money. I am just the odd ball out of the group. Penny pincer…Have any of you guys faced this sort of situation? Or do you guys know anyone who has faced? Sorry if I am being nosy. I am just curious.

I don’t know if this is the best way to go. Since it was 2 AP tests that you took, and not just 1 test, it would be a strange coincidence that both of those tests were wrongly scored. To me, it’s a bit of a stretch for that to happen. Not to make you feel bad or anything, but maybe the tests were just much harder than the practice ones, you know? I have been in this same exact situation.

But the ultimate decision is yours. I just think that the AP system is pretty careful when it comes to scoring.

Yea, that does seem really weird doesn’t it? My parents have already sent the re score request, so I guess we will see.
