I didn’t take RS my junior year, and I am just wondering if doing Running Start for only 1 year is worth it in the long run in terms of money, time and credits.
Running start is taking college classes during HS, right? It may depend on what colleges you want to go to (public colleges will accept your credits,…not sure if private colleges will…but keep the syllabuses from all your classes to give to the college when they are deciding whether to give credit). You can get enough credits to save a semester or a year!
What do you mean by “worth it”?
Most kids who do Running Start do not finish a two year degree, so don’t let not having enough time to finish an associates dissuade you from the program.
It is a time commitment though, and it can be complicated when you are taking some things at the high school and some at the community college (among other things, consider transportation time and the fact that the two school calendars will not mesh up).
How excited are you to take the classes at the community college versus what you would have available at the hgh school? Are you being sufficiently challenged where you are?
