To be perfectly honest, I'd say my life is in school. It's really sad in a way because sometimes I don't know what exactly it is that pushes me to obsess about success and trying to be "the best". Maybe I'm brainwashed or maybe I'm compensating for some sort of psychological fixation, or maybe I'm just hardwired this way. It gets tiring, the late nights and the stress and the pressure but I don't exactly know why I do it lol

After seeing these posts, I feel bad saying school is in my life; I am able to enjoy my weekends, participate in social activities, etc. but am able to work with the stresses of school alongside such things.

My school considers 89.5-100 as an A, so maybe it’s because I can do just as well with a 90 as with a 97

The way you worded the question leaves it somewhat open for interpretation. I long ago gave up on finding most of high school academics even remotely interesting, so I do most of my socializing during the school day. From that perspective, school makes up much of my life.

Hmm I’d have to say that school is def not my life. But the learning is…half the academics I do are not school mandated (academic competitions, self-studying AP exams), but I think that’s alright for now bc we are all deciding the rest of lives with the motivation of these few years so I feel that it’s okay to give up part of your life now, in order to have a future :)

During the week days, my life is in school. 24/7.

Friday nights and Saturday nights? I party. Til 2 in the morning (except tonight because I have choir at 6:00 A.M. tomorrow…) But I did party til 10:30 left early. Tonight was the best night of the entire year, most likely. Each weekend seems to get better and better.

Let’s say 6 hours for sleeping, 6 hours for school, 2 hours for ECs and athletics, and 2 hours of homework and studying. And that’s being generous. That leaves a third of your day left over not devoted to sleeping or school related stuff.

But pfft, what do I care. My last day of high school was today. As soon as I finish those APs next week, I’m done. Summer 2010, let’s gooooooo.
