Syracuse seems to have a reputation of being a party school, is the arch school also like that? Are people there nice/mature/well-mannered? I am worry that I will be immersed in an environment where I would feel out of place(as in the party reputation is not something I want).

A lot of kids in architecture party, but you would find that anywhere in school. Though, to be frank with you, a lot of kids in architecture are fairly intelligent people, and are really cool to be around. A lot of people in my year are super nice and laid back, and mostly everyone is well-mannered for sure, a few competitive students here and there, though. I don’t party at all, but I still get along with mostly everyone fairly well. I also feel out of place once in a while, so I get your concern, but it’s really not that big of a deal, nobody really judges if you are not interested in partying. Believe me, architecture kids are great, great people.

I worked as a Resident Advisor for a few years when I was at Syracuse and the architecture students were some of the hardest working students. Some kids party, others don’t party at all. In my opinion, this shouldn’t be a major concern. You will DEFINITELY find others that share similar values to yours.

I had a conversation with a recent grad at an alumni function regarding architecture students. He told me that they were by far the hardest working students at SU and had very little time to party because of the workload in their classes. Rewind to more than thirty years ago when I was at SU and it was exactly the same thing - the architecture students were the hardest working students at SU.
I don’t know where you got that SU is a party school, but I can tell you that I don’t think that it is more or less of a party school than peer schools.
