Is Sending AP Scores to colleges beneficial?

I got a 4 in Bio and Chem, and a 3 in English language and COmp.

I am applying to Stony Brook, Binghamton, St. John's, Wesleyan, University of Rochester, GW, BU, NYU, Lehigh, Colgate, Vassar, UPenn, and Tufts.... to which schools should I send AP scores to? I know NYU offers substitution of SATs with 3 specific aps... so I will submit them to NYU, but is it beneficial to submit them anywhere else?

It depends on the school, and I’m not fully apt to answer that question on the schools you are considering. However, I know that most schools do look at the AP scores if you send them and they do consider them, so if you feel that they will aid your application, then send them.

AP’s are not required for admission. Some colleges will give some consideration to scores as part of overall file review. However, for that you do not need to send official scores. You can self-report them on app or in essay or just send copies of your scores and ask that they be included in your application file. Thus, you don’t need to make College Board richer by ordering official scores (until after you are admitted and want credit for the AP courses).
