Since during my junior year I was not able to engage in the same EC that I did in my previous school. However I managed to still pursue what I like. However I still think its not enough and I want to learn more outside of school. So I would like to start one club and join varsity sport because in my previous school I was in varsity swimming but this new school that I am attending has no swim team. Will this help my resume look better?

It probably won’t look better. If you start a club exclusively for seniors, perhaps that will look good.

@AnnieBeats what if I already did the extracurricular activity outside of the school, but I decided to bring it to the school during my senior year?

Well, that should be fine. Just make sure you explain that and then, it would count as leadership

What will look best is if you do something because you care about it and want to have fun, not because it looks good. If you’re creating a club, you want to be creating something that will outlast you, not collapse on your departure.

ECs outside school count. Clubs? A last minute high school club won’t show vision, responsibility and impact the way some serious, focused volunteering or a summer job can. Get activated. Use this summer wisely and continue those into next fall if you can.

You have to take an open look at all you did do. This isn’t just about what happens inside the hs.
