Senior Year new extracurricular activity, is it worth it?

When I was in my sophomore year I tried for Varsity swimming and got in. However before the start of my junior year I changed my school, which did not had any swimming pool. The only sports that my current new school has is volleyball, soccer and basketball. I wanted to try out but I had hard time adjusting to school because I was in IB school previously(This new school is AP). Next year, which is my senior year, I would like to try out for Varsity Basketball team or Volleyball team. I think if Im lucky I might be able to get in. However will it be worth because I will be only doing it for a year?

Also I am thinking to create one or two more club in my school, which I had been doing outside of school.

Really, just do what will make you happy. This won’t make or break you for colleges, so try to remove that mentality.

I would definitely like to do it to make me happy, but since I am in senior I don’t think I will be free as much due to the essay prep and other studies so I would like to use my time wisely.

bumpity bump??

It’s not going to affect college admissions like at all so do it if you want to but make sure you have enough time on the side for essays and apps

Wait so colleges don’t care what we do about EC?

They are not going to view something picked up senior year as very significant. They generally like to see commitment over time to something. But you could possibly spin it as trying something new, since you transferred to a school that did not have your original sport. That can be seen in a positive light.
