Is taking a hard course during the summer a good idea?

Or should I just take easier courses during the summer? I am thinking about taking computation theory during the summer, and I was wondering if it was a good idea or not...

IMO, if the class is something that is core to your upper level engineering courses than you should best find something else to take during the summer.

I took a lot of GE courses, statistics, fortran, and statics during the summers. I shouldn’t of glossed on statistics as much though, but as a ChemE major the other classes really had no impact on my other classes. However, it could be argued that if it is being offered during the summer than it is probably not too difficult to grasp, as most of my harder classes weren’t offered during the summer term.

Most engineering classes are impossible to cover all the material over summer. I’d take the difficult course only if it’s not a pre-requisite for other classes, or if a different professor teaches it in summer and the one/s that teach during the school year are regarded as bad/unfair.

Is there any hard course in the summer? Usually, only easy courses are offered during summer session.

Theory of Computation is suppose to be a very difficult class…

If it is considered harder than usual, but it’s your only class, then you should be fine. The issue is that you want to have time to dedicate to your classes. It’s probably a bit easier when you don’t have tons of other things to deal with in other classes; you’d only have to deal with 1 or 2 classes.

I have been wondering about this as well. I am trying to decide between Organic Chemistry or Multivariable Calc…any suggestions?

Take the class that is more in your area of expertise.
