Summer Classes

Hello everyone,
I am currently enrolled as a freshmen at my university in my hometown. I am interested in knowing if most schools offer core classes over the summer? I am very interested in being an engineer and I was wanting to take some summer classes at another college during the summer because my school does not offer a variety. I know I want to be an engineer and if I could take a couple different types of engineering classes every summer at another college, it would greatly help me narrow down to what type of engineer I would like to become. Also, I am very skeptical on taking summer classes because I here they are very hard. Is this true or is it merely the fact that they take up so much of you life given the short time constraint? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

It depends on the specific class and the specific school. Most summer classes are more along the lines of GenEd classes and lower level courses. Upper level courses typically are not offered during the summer. There may be some upper level classes that are offered, but far from all.

Summer classes are definitely harder. It’s not that the material is any harder. You’ll cover the exact same material in a summer course that you’d cover in a regular semester. The issue is that you’re doing it in half the time. Summer courses move much more quickly, and it is much more essential to make a point of staying current with the material.

Thankyou, this helps out alot!
