Is Technology Management a good degree?

It’s a new degree program at my university and is being housed under the School of Education. I was wondering if this major was worth it or not? I know it exists at other universities, but is it decent? I’m not all about money or all about passion, but I’m looking for something of a balance. So far, it seems to be about connecting business and technology together. We’re supposed to be the people who know how to manage technology within a business, keep up with the latest technology to help the business have an edge over its competitors, and it seems to be very broad because it deals with going into IT. Does anyone else know more about it?

Bump?

They mean Information Technology Management, I presume, which is quite a strong area for employment, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (http://www.bls.gov/ooh/management/computer-and-information-systems-managers.htm) and suggested by the 404,319 hits “Technology Management” gets on the jobs site Indeed.com today.

Can you post a link to the program? If it’s something like IT Management, that would probably be OK. If it’s something like Engineering Management, I wouldn’t advise it for an undergraduate degree. Engineers aren’t going to listen to a manager who hasn’t been a practicing engineer.

@jjwinkie Thank you! I’ve seen that page before, but it does seem pretty useful.

@simba9 It appears to be dealing more with IT than engineering. It’s quite broad dealing with unix systems, database administration, end user support, etc.
