Is the APES test easy?

I’m taking several AP tests this year, and I’m trying to figure out how much time I should spend studying for each one. How many hours did you (APES veterans) spend studying for this test and what did you get?

I made a 5!

I spent about three weeks of on and off studying (because I had several other exams) for APES. I used the REA Crash Course book and I was very worried about this exam because the practice tests I took from past APES exams had plenty of material that I either had not learned thoroughly or did not remember. I went through all my class notes once and read through the entire review book thoroughly, and pinpointed weak spots and focused on those. Irdk why but I had a really bad understanding of dimensional analysis last year so I made sure to practice many of those problems because there is always at least one math problem on the APES free response and it should be easy points! It usually just involves converting between units using the dimensional analysis.

Otherwise make sure you know the content well because it is a lot of info. I felt like I did great on the multiple choice but weaker on the free response because I didn’t feel like I knew my content well enough to do well on those open-ended questions. I do think the frq is scaled because my ap teacher discussed that with us. ie) if on an frq problem the national average is a 3 and you score a 4, your score gets weighted more so you may get 5 points, or if the national average is 4 and you get a 6, you may actually get 8 points, so high scores on the frq is essential. Plus scores on this exam are one of the lowest, so I think beating that average helped net me additional points on the free response!

Good luck studying for this exam! : )
