I want to transfer into Tufts but I just read that they did not go to the waitlist this year. I know that at Bowdoin College, because the class of 2014 had a huge yield and ended up with the largest freshman class in history, the admissions team has admitted that they will not be accepting transfers for the class of 2014. Will this be the case at Tufts? It would have been nice to know ahead of time...

:(

I’m pretty sure transfer admissions are over for the year, unless you’re talking about next year. It also depends on how many people transfer out. Tufts has ended up with anywhere from ~30 to ~75 transfer students actually enrolling within the past few years.

right, I sent my app in in February (it was due March 15th I believe). I’m just concerned because with big classes there’s usually no need to accept transfers - unless they waitlist us and then add us on when/if people transfer out of tufts… I really hope the class isn’t so big though that they don’t plan on accepting anyone for 2014 unless there’s kids transferring out…
