Is it soley what college looks like the SAT?

for the ACT colleges look at everything, and most do the same for the SAT. It’s just a few colleges don’t care about the writing on the SAT

Yah a good composite is good, but I heard english and math are more important. Like for Georgia Tech.

the key is the composite # for sure. it is what schools will use to screen applications.
Don’t worry too much about the writing score. it does not mean much and I think some major schools, maybe even the U. of Chicago and Caltech don’t even require it… and I have never seen a school that even reports the average writing score of accepted applicants. The key is to get the best composite # you can.

It’s all about the composite. After you’ve been accepted, for certain majors, the individual sections might come into play. One of the colleges my friend is looking into requires a minimum 26 on the science section to major in chemistry as an incoming freshman

the composite is what is most important - by far
