I posted here earlier about my chances of going to USC, now I got another question: "Is the financial aid very generous?"
I have a 0 EFC, according to the Collegeboard EFC calculator. Will I get a lot of USC grant? What's the average amount of aid for 0 EFC kids? I know that since I have a 0 EFC, I'm eligible for the full Pell Grant ($4000-ish).
Also, I'm a minority, do I get more grants/scholarships from that?

USC seems to largely meet demonstrated need. This is not an authoritative opinion, just an observation based on what I have read here. If you qualify academically, there will probably be no loans in your package. There may be work study. Your grants/scholarships will not be larger because of your race/ethnicity.

race/ethnicity won't affect the official USC scholarships/need-based aid at all

There are many different alumni associations (black alumni, mexican american alumni, etc) that also provide scholarships to USC students, though, so those might be worth investigating.

edit: iirc, there are also USC scholarships available for first gen college students and students from the community surrounding USC

i'll give you some of my info on my fin aid package from sc

my efc is 0, like yours. and i'm a spring admit.

my fin aid was changed twice,

the first time, i had a university of grant of 17,900 (keep in mind that its only for second semester since that's when i start), and the pell grant
Also as part of my fin aid package was the subsidized AND unsubsidized federal stafford loans AND some other federal loan for about 200 or so dollars.

the second time, i added a $4000 scholarship. they took away the unsubsidized loan and the other loan, but left the subsidized loan and lowered my university grant to 17100.

i'm not doing a work study though...so it may be different for you if you decide to do a work study
