Is the International Relations & Global Studies major competitive at UT?

If you got accepted into that major, what are your stats?

Hi! I applied to IRG in my senior year of high school. Unfortunately, I was given CAP. Now that I have completed my year at UT Tyler, I am automatically transferring to UT IRG. So no, I was not accepted directly.

My senior stats were:
GPA: 90.50 (100 point scale not 4.0)
Rank: My high school is a none ranking high school
EC: Founded several clubs at my school as well as Student government
Community Service: I logged over 400 hours of community service (I hoped this was going to boost my chances)
SAT: 1550
ACT: N/A

CAP year stats:
GPA NEEDED TO TRANSFER TO UT: 3.2
Fall GPA: 3.4
Spring GPA: 3.8
Cumulative GPA: 3.6
Major: IRG with Pre Med (Most likely internal transferring to Biology or Biochem)
Credit Hourse Needed: 30
Earned: 31

Hope this helps!

As an External Transfer (CAP) we get in automatically however internal transfers have it a bit rough as they have to meet certain prerequisites and actually send in a separate application.
To answer your question the IRG program has gotten more competitive and popular over the years.
