I received an email from Macaulay Honors College inviting me to attend an interview at John Jay. I live in Long Island, about an hour and thirty minutes away (riding the LIRR). I was wondering…if these interviews are offered to many applicants anyways, that I can just “skip” this interview. I don’t really want to miss a day of school, and commute to the city for an informational interview. I mean, do these interviews even affect my chances of being accepted into the honors program?
i know a few ppl who got interviews… but i havent received one. why is that?
i dont think everyone gets them… two of my classmates havent…
I did however, (it was terribly short though, maybe 15/20 mins, leading me to think that im not getting in now…)
anyways, its definitely worth attending
even though Ive heard of people getting in w/o it, it says on their website something along the lines of “if you dont attend, it will be duly noted and possibly/probably count against you during final decisions”.
and i dont thnk an hour and a half is not terribly long at all… id jump at the chance to get some guiltless nap time
