So I took the English and Math sections of the practice test today and got a composite of 27. I'm pretty upset about that and even with the explanations in the back I don't think it will help me that much because I just don't remember or have never learned the parts that I got wrong. So, I would like to know if the PR 1296 is harder than the actual ACT. Also, should I consider buying another prep book? And if so, which one?

No, PR 1296 is about the same difficulty as the actual ACT. Barron’s is the only practice book that’s significantly more challenging than the ACT.

I got 32+ on English and Math parts of the PR 1296. Ended up with only 30’s on those sections on the real test.
