I have tried to Google this but been unable to find the answer. My daughter took the SAT in October 2017 and got a 780 on the math. She is taking the SAT math 2 subject test in 12 days. She has little time to prep as she has finals that week. She basically has 3 days. Is it very similar or does she has to study a particular area that was not on the SAT.
No. Math II is completely different. I suggest looking at the practice test on the college board’s website. The SAT math section is mainly algebra 2/geometry, whereas the recommended prereq for Math II is precalc. You’ll find matrices, 3 dimensional geometry, and other topics (i.e. Law of Sines and Cosines) on Math II that are not on the typical SAT. If your daughter has taken precalc before and has done well, she should be well prepared. I personally studied for it the night before with my precalc teacher and did some practice problems, and got a perfect score the next day. There is no major prep time needed UNLESS she has not come in contact with the material before in a classroom setting.
ok she is taking precalc now and has an A in the class put probably has to freshen up on geometry etc, thank you
No - they are not the same, but she will be fine if she is fresh off a rigorous Pre-calc class. There is a much tougher curve, however.
