Im taking the sat in 4 months and the sat 2 math level 1 in the end on summer 2014. Is the math level 1 the SAME as the math on the sat? and if it is, should i study the barron's math level 1 book and take the sat and sat subject math level 1 test at the same time?

No, though there is a lot of overlap. The SAT is mainly Algebra 1, Geometry, and a few Algebra 2 subjects. Math 1 includes all of those things with a full Algebra 2 understanding, and then it also involves Trigonometry with trigonometric equations and some miscellaneous topics

^That’s true except for the SAT2 Math 1 which has a really annoying curve -very similar to the SAT1 Math curve. So you can miss out on your 800 because of one stupid mistake. The SAT2 Math 2 on the other hand allows you to miss 4 out of 50 and still get an 800.

Question
I’m a sophomore and planning on taking the sat before the end of 2014 because they’re gonna change the test in 2015
So should I just prep for math level 1 as I need a subject test and haven’t taken precalc

@ibraheem98 - Yes. Or you can try to tough it out and take the new SAT Math2 after precal
