Is the Secondary School Final Report Required for Transfers?

Calling Dartmouth admissions gets me different answers each time, and their website is rather vague about it being a strict requirement or not. My high school counselor seems to think it’s redundant and refuses to send them one.

Have you been admitted as a transfer?

Dartmouth will tell you what you will need to submit. If you are currently in college, they will require a final transcript from the college that you are currently attending.

If you are attending as a first time freshman, you definitely must submit a final transcript from your high school.

I am currently in college, which is why I stated I’m a transfer, and I haven’t been admitted yet (they notify in May for transfers). I’m not referring to transcripts btw, I’m referring to the Common App’s Secondary School Report form.

I’ve already sent Dartmouth my college and high school transcripts and already knew I’d have to submit updated college transcripts again if I were to be accepted. I’m a sophomore right now if that matters.

My high school also refused to send it for the same reason, so it showed up as “not received” when I opened the Dartmouth portal. Called the admissions office, had them confirm that all of the info they needed was already in my transcript, and they marked it as waived. I recommend calling them.

I finally managed to get her to send it anyway last week and it’s checked off on my portal now.
