Hello people from CC,
I have an almost finished essay (needs some revising) about an instrument I play and how it changed the way I view the world around me. Now, I'm applying for engineering and in my essay I talk about nothing related to math or science (or engineering). So my question is, should I change the focus of my essay to something that reflects the field I'm going to or is the topic I have fine? Many schools I'm applying to have supplemental essays for me to talk about engineering, but others don't (line Northeastern which I don't think has any additional essay).
Thanks for yours thoughts!

I don’t think you should be worried about it. Your topic sounds really solid as it is, and unless they mention the requirement in the application, they know your major and they’re probably more focused on the big picture.
