<p>Hi,
My trouble is deciding which essay to submit as the common app. I am applying as an engineer, so originally, my essay was about how I have always been interested in how things work and taking things apart as a kid, and then talks about my interest in computer science and ties that in with my passion to learn how things work. However, as I was reading the supplements for many of the colleges, the essays that I have to write are mostly about why I am interested in engineering and I am afraid that it will come off as redundant. My second college essay idea, of which I have a rougher draft, was to talk about my vegetarianism, and more specifically growing up with it. When I was five I decided to become a vegetarian, and in the essay I talk about how growing up, I shied away from my vegetarianism because I was afraid of being different. Then, I talk about how as I grew older, I learned to stick to my opinions but that is important to respect others. Obviously this second essay has nothing to do with engineering and I am unsure if it is even a good essay topic. Any opinions on which essay I should do would be appreciated. Thanks.</p>
