A lot of schools that I'm looking at, that post SAT scores, don't include the SAT writing even in their data, does this mean that is it significantly less important to them? (Schools like Rice and WUSTL)? If so, would it be more beneficial for me to focus less on that when studying? I can get a perfect score on my on a good day, meaning not stupid mistakes, and as for CR, I'm having some trouble on that, I'm working to get it up to 700. Is that writing for worrying about? Obviously I'll try on test day, and probably get around 650, but should i actually put that much effort into it since it seems like they don't even look at it?

While some schools do not look at CR for admissions, they may use them for placement. For example, S does not need to take accepted college English placement test now. He will only take the one for math. A 650 will be fine for most schools.

Sorry, insert writing instead in my answer. Write as you normally do, but remember the rules about good writing.on the other hand, CR will be very important.

Since writing is the newest section, a lot of colleges don’t look at writing or give it less weight. However, it’s still worth studying for since, in my opinion, it is the easiest to study for.

Yea, I studied the grammar portion, I’m having trouble with the essay though. On AP English essays I usually get a 7.5/9, but on SAT the two I’ve taken that were graded by a SAT prep class that I’m taking, I got 6/12 and 7/12, it’s killing me.

Check out the “How to write a 12 essay in just 10 days” thread. Helped me get an 11.
