I just got an e-mail from BU saying they're missing this part of my application, and I was wondering whether there's some kind of deadline. I heard that most universitites require this after you get an offer. Right?

According to this, you need to submit a CSS Profile (available on College Board site) and a FAFSA by Feb 15 if regular admission [Financial Aid | Boston University Admissions](Scholarships & Financial Aid | Admissions)

Not true that most require financial aid forms only after admission. Colleges have different requirement dates and for colleges that make decisions in March or April, the date is always before that.

^ I don’t need financial aid.

It’s just something that I got from BU saying my parents need to prove that they have $58,000 in their accounts.

I see, your an international. You need to provide verification that your parents or you can pay the entire estimated first year costs of attendance. That info is needed to get a visa and BU wants it before deciding admission because it will reject you if you cannot verify ability to afford. The form is here: http://www.bu.edu/admissions/files/library/media/confidentialstatement.pdf

Send them a bank certificate showing the amount of money your parents have. You can also send them tax return certificate of your parents.

Thanks Mr. Drusba…

Do you know if there is a deadline for this?
