Is there a demand for Polymer Engineers?

I am thinking about doing Chemical Engineering with Polymer Engineering concentration. Do you guys think this is a flexible major/concentration as far as the job market is concerned? On the levels of difficulty, how would you rate this major/concentration?

What do you guys think about Macro Science Engineering, or Polymers Engineering? Anybody?

First, Polymer works fine as a concentration under ChemE. However, don’t worry about it at this point. After two years of college, you’ll have a much better sense of which concentration to pick.

“Macro Science Engineering”, is that Macromolecular Science? It’s a bit rare and usually research focused. Many of those that get a BS in engineering, likely plan on going on to grad school. Polymers Engineering would be very similar to ChemE.

You may be disappointed with the variety of options at your disposal. The truth is there are very few companies that need that specific skillset, so your choices are limited if you dislike it or don’t get an offer.

Yep! It’s Macromolecular Science Engineering with Biomaterials concentration.
So we’re looking at Polymer Engineering here but with medical biology, chem and physics in the mix. It’s an interdisciplinary major.
