yeah
the title

Early Decision = binding = you have to go if you have to get admiitted.. you can only have 1 ED..

Early Action = non-binding = you just get the decision early. you can have as many EAs and you can have ED with your EA...

In both cases, you get your decision early..

Most public schools switched to EA..
But many privates are still ED..

ED= higher chance of admission, especially for students who DO NOT need financial aid (at most universities)
EA= just recieving the news early, not much weight in admissions decision

Beware of SCEA (single choice Early Action)- you can't have all the EAs in the world!

(Just curious) Are most schools with EA meant to have SCEA instead of a general EA which, theoretically, you can apply to as many EA schools as you want?

TTG

dooit, I would say that EA at private schools also helps one's admissions chances; not only does it demonstrate one's interest, but schools know that their changes of an increased yield with EA is much greater than with Reg decision.

Remember, demonstrating interest and being able to lock up students in a particular class are the two aspects of the early programs that make them so attractive to schools.
