Is there a fence on top bunk bed?

I'm living in a unit 3 triple standard and I'll most likely sleep on a top bunk bed. Is there a fence installed along the bed? I'm pretty sure I'll fall off and die (I am being serious) if there isn't one. Has anybody ever fallen off?

there wasn't i believe when i stayed during calso because i put pillows on the side of me to keep from falling off

hmm i didn't see one either.. lol
I don't remember of falling from a bed b4.. maybe it's cause my bed it big.. lol.

Some bunks have them and some don't. It's just the luck of the draw I guess.

And a girl did fall off the top bunk on my floor freshmen year. She ended up only spraining her arm and was fine though.

haha that doesn't sound very fine to me lol

you could buy a bed rail if you wanted to, but unless you've fallen off your normal bed during sleep before, there's no reason to think you'll roll off a top bunk.

lol.. well what I meant to say is that she didn't experience any injuries beyond a minor sprain. She could have ended up with something much worse, like a cracked head or something...

Why would you "most likely" sleep on the top bunk? If you're honestly scared to death, tell your roomies how you feel and try to get a bottom bunk.

On another note, sleeping on the top bunk in no different than sleeping on the bottom. You don't fall off of your bed at home, do you? :p

Oh wow, no fence? If I have a Foothill double in suite, will my roommate and I have a bunk bed?

@smileysoccergal: No.

You shouldn't have a problem. Sleeping on the top is no different than the bottom...unless you regularly fall off your bed at home, don't worry about it.

Wow, I never thought of that before (the part about top and bottom beds are no different).

I think it's the fear of heights too.

It is less scary to stand on a 2-in tall platform than to stand on a 30-ft tall platform.

My parents said I've had previous record of sleep walking. Though I don't have any recollection of it, I rather take their words for it. Where can you buy those bed railings?

Why can't you just ask for a bottom bunk?

@ corona7w...well have you waken up on the floor? If not, then you're not falling off your bed. Don't worry about it, you really don't need a railing. And if you are really that concerned about it, just explain it to your room mates and tell them you 'need' the bottom bunk. Why waste money?

My other two roommates all said they want the bottom bunk, so we settled on a rotation plan. I want to minimize my chance of falling off during my turn.

. . .

my bunk bed in Bowles had a fence. I slept on the bottom though

this is the funniest thread ever
