In February, some 15,000 Semifinalists are notified by mail at their home addresses that they have advanced to Finalist standing. High school principals are notified and provided with a certificate to present to each Finalist.

<p>Last year, there were posts on Feb 7th of notification of NMF status.</p>

<p>Don’t they send out letters notifying semifinalists who didn’t make finalist sometime in January?</p>

<p>Yes…it’s very likely that the rejection letters were mailed last Friday (two days ago). They’re usually mailed around that time.</p>
