Many universities either end classes 10 minutes "early" or start classes 10 minutes "late" compared to the times in the schedule so that students have time to move between back-to-back classes? Does Northwestern have this passing time?

Yes. Course blocks are scheduled in 50 minute, 80 minute, or 230 minute blocks (1 hr, 1.5 hr, and 3 hr), the vast majority of the time. So a 10am class ends at 10:50, and the next set of classes will begin at 11.

But courses might end at 12:20 and the next course might start at 1, depending on your schedule.

Yep, always 10 minutes between classes. My kid has had classes all over campus and says that he can always make it on time. For example, a couple of days a week he has one class from 11-12:20 and the next one from 12:30-1:50.

10 minutes is often tough to get from north to south, but it’s doable-ish. But yes, there’s always enough time
