Is there any chance I can get a summer internship?

I'm a civil engineering major at Auburn and I'm struggling with my coursework. I'm about to go into my second semester sophomore year and I currently have a 2.48 GPA (mostly getting B's and C's in my classes). I had a 2.26 GPA after my freshman year so I've already bumped it up after the first semester of my sophomore year.

It's probably not likely but is there anything I can do to get myself a summer internship or a co-op position with these kinds of grades? I know doing better GPA-wise is a must this semester but my final grades probably won't be in by the time I have to apply/send in my resume and I'm guessing most people probably want a higher GPA.

Just found out that while my cumulative GPA is 2.48, my GPA in engineering classes (my major GPA) is a 3.11. Will this help at all?

Maybe you should leave GPA off your resume, and if someone asks tell them that your engineering GPA is 3.11, which may be acceptable at some companies.

Just put your major gpa on your resume. A 3.11 gpa is fine for most companies.

well let’s say that an internship requires a minimum GPA of 2.5. If I submit my transcript (and they want it) which has both my major GPA (3.11) and my overall GPA (2.48) would they still consider me for the position?

It can’t hurt to apply anyway.
