Is there any chance of me transferring to Wharton?

I am currently a freshman in my first semester at Temple University's Fox School of Business (majoring in International Business/HR Management). I am from New York. During high school, I didn't work to my full potential and while my GPA and ECs were decent, I got mediocre SAT scores (1800). Obviously that would not have been good enough to get me admitted to UPenn.

I desperately want to transfer now that I am at Temple. I have realized that I want to be part of a more competitive business program, and while Fox is a great school, Wharton would give me a greater chance for success. I believe that Wharton has more academically focused students and would be a better environment for me.

What steps could I take to increase my slim likelihood of being admitted to Wharton as a sophomore?

I realize attaining a 3.8 GPA or better is one crucial aspect. What else? Is being accepted to Wharton as a transfer a realistic goal? Is there any way I could network with faculty from UPenn?

(1) As a transfer student you will need to send in SAT or ACT scores. Your 1800 is much below the median of accepted students. You’ll need to bring it up to the 2200 range.

(2) You will need stellar first semester grades at Temple, most likely an A average.

(3) Upenn accepts a small fraction of transfer applications. The notion of a freshman without a “business success story” networking with UPenn faculty seems somehow unlikely.
