Is there any chance?

I'm going to be a senior next year and am hoping that I can raise my gpa more.

Cumulative Unweighted gpa: 3.3 =( ap's and honors taken
-took some college courses over the summer and received A's

SAT : 2170

Extra Curriculars:
-varsity waterpolo 3 years
-varsity swimming 4 years (captain)
-Senior Class President
-Orientation Leader
-Asian Culture Club Head
-other various clubs
-lots of community service, costa rica service
-Internship at Eisenhower hospital

From what I’ve seen, USC turns somewhat of a blind eye towards specific numbers on your transcript. SC’ seems like one of the few, top academic institutions that looks for a well-rounded person and not just letters on a paper. But, of course, grades matter.
Your EC’s are fantastic imo. Polo and swimming takes dedication and a lot of time - really burns you out for school. Class pres and other leader positions = great.
SAT = great.
Maybe your W GPA will pull in for you.
Write a killer essay and hope your recs give you the edge you need to brush off your low UW GPA.

Edit: Sign up for an interview to meet up with an SC’ alumni. And you BETTER rock it. This will help carry you.

take as many AP classes as you can 1st semester senior year and ace them all with A’s…
that will no doubt make your application stand out more by leaps and bounds.
good luck

Are your swimming skills good enough to be a recruited athlete? Have you placed in statewide meets? Does your coach feel you are competitive at the D-1 level?
