Is there any hope being wait listed?

UCLA doesn’t admit by major in L&S. It admits by major in HSSEAS.
Not sure about it’s role associated with the waitlist though.

Do you guys think it matters when we send in our acceptance to the waitlist? Or anytime till the 15th is fine?

Wait so does being a Bio major mean less of a chance for acceptance off the wait list? It’s one of the most popular majors at UCLA so it might have less openings. Does anyone know someone who got off the wait list as a bio major for UCLA?

Also, do you know if they still consider you for your alternate major? Thanks!

NlaNla123: It wasn’t that long, just a small paragraph. And no, I waited a little bit before I sent it; wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to write.

I guess I should mention though that I was one out of three people waitlisted from my high school last year, and the other two did not get in.

Does being a bio major make it more difficult to get off the wait list?

Bump…

Does anyone know if it’s harder to get off the wait list if you aren’t from in state?

Who knows if your major or putting down “undeclared” influences your chances of getting off the waitlist? Let’s say you put undeclared physical sciences, for example?

What number do we call to talk to someone over at admissions?

Look it up if you want to call admissions office. What your major does not majorly influence your acceptance though I have heard rumors that impact majors do (no evidence for that). Everyone has a equal chance to be pulled off the wait list whether instate or oos though I always assumed oos would be more preferred as they would be paying more ($$$). Reasons for having high credentials and not being accepted automatically is due to the fact you may be a high risk (you’re more likely to get accepted to higher end schools) or in general your essays just sucked which UCLA place great emphasis on.

I put undeclared life sciences as my alternate. Does anyone know if they consider alternates when reevaluating the wait list applications?

Bump…

I doubt major in L&S matters because all freshmen enter undeclared. Engineering is where it definitely matters just as it does in regular admissions.

There’s always hope
