Thinking about opening an account at a major bank, is there any bank branch (Chase, B of A, or Citi) right on the USC campus? Thanks.

There are BOA atms throughout the campus and there is also a BOA branch on campus. It it next to the SCA building.

The USC Credit Union is on campus.

In the area just north of campus, there are also Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America ATMs. The Chase ATM and branch are in Gateway (Jefferson & Fig). The Wells Fargo ATMs are in the University Village food court and at the corner of 28th & Fig. The Bank of America branch and ATM are at 27th & Fig.

There may be other banks I don’t know of in the area.

There is a BoA ATM right in the middle of campus next to the student union. The actual BoA branch isn’t on campus though, it is just to the north of it on the north side of Jefferson.

As mentioned the other Bank branch just north of campus is Chase bank. My recommendation would be opening an account with one of those two banks if you are looking for convenience.

oh, I totally forgot about that BoA in the UV!

fwiw, I’m with Wells Fargo and that works fine for me. I haven’t needed to go into a branch yet, and their ATMs do pretty much everything. The only time I’ve needed to go into a branch was to buy a roll of quarters, but you can do that at any bank, regardless or whether or not you have an account with them.

I suggest giving the USC Credit Union a good, long look. Very good and doesn’t charge all the B.S. fees that the banks do. I had B of A in college and overdrafted my account by ONE CENT and they tacked on $134 in fees. Not making that one up.

Our kids also did most of their banking while at USC at the USC credit union. It has worked well for our family and doesn’t charge a lot of fees. It is right on campus, above the gym. We opened the joint account during orientation, so I could easily transfer funds into the kids’ checking accounts.

S did have a BofA account that we opened in University Village. He also got dinged twice for overdraft fees, even though he had PLENTY of money in his savings account. He was furious with them!
