Is there any UK & Ireland students?

I was just wondering, because I don't really see anybody from the UK and Ireland on this thing, is there anyone from there that is wishing to go/or who is actually already studying in America. If so where are you wishing to go/or where are you attending?

Hey Gary. I'm living in Dublin, but originally from the West. I'm supposed to be starting in Stephens in Missouri in 2 weeks, but I have my visa interview tomorrow morning... Dun dun DUNNNN!

What about you? Have you applied for a visa or interested in studying in the US? Don't be afraid to ask! xxxx

Hey!
Thats brilliant I hope you get it best of luck!

Yeah I'm REALLY interested in going to the US. I've already been talking to a few soccer coaches at a few of the UCs and one was even talking about giving me nearly a full ride scholarship so fingers crossed i keep his interest going!

I will be applying next year though. The only thing that is confusing me about it all is the GPA, SATs ACTs n all that, because you know yourself we do GCSEs/A-Levels over here.

But anyway good luck! I'd like to keep in touch to see how you get on over there!

Gary 007,
It may come as a surprise, but the US exams are definitely offered roughly 10 times per year in the UK. If you are serious about applying for a US school, you will probably need to take them.

For example, the Belfast test centre for the SAT's is at Queens University. More information is available at the College Board website. You can also get information from the Fulbright Foundation (<a href="http://www.fulbright.co.uk/eas/)%5B/url%5D">http://www.fulbright.co.uk/eas/)</a>.</p>

Good luck with your search

I'm from the UK...I live in London, but I'm from the isle of wight. I'm hoping to go to Yale or Harvard in a couple of years to do post grad. I'm very good at putting myself under extreme levels of stress hehe! :D

I get so confused when viewing American admissions and examination proceedures (sats etc). What/where are all of you trying to study/go?

Is it just me that finds this whole thing incredibly daunting?! I can't imagine that big a transistion. I'm quite excited about the prospect of it too - It'd be nice to go to a campus where people actually want to learn, and isn't surrounded by chicken shops (I study in London you see!) Goddamit I want somewhere with trees!!!

Best of luck to you all. It's nice to talk to other UK students...

Me me me me! Applying this year for entry next year (that is if I can afford to buy some SAT study guides soon, I'm broke!)

I'm applying to: Harvaard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, Pomona and possibly Northwestern and maaaaybe MIT. I've learned a lot about studying in the US, it confused the hell out of me at first but I think I understand it all now so feel free to ask any questions :)
