Is there any use in submitting a recording for a non-music major?

Basically just the title. If you have good musical skills and have no intention of focusing on music in college, is there any benefit in adding a recording to the application, if it is even possible?

Well, in part, it will depend on the college, but many applicants submit music (or art) supplements, who have no intention of majoring in those fields in college. If the supplement is outstanding in quality (as in on the level of those applicants who will be focusing on music/applying to conservatories), and the school allows them, by all means submit. If the supplement is simply very good, then no, don’t submit.

Yeah, I’m not splendid, but I taught myself piano and am decent. If there’s no use in sending a recording, I can still mention it in the application though.
