Is there any way to enroll in Stanford Math classes?

I am currently a high school sophomore taking BC/Multivariable Calculus. I wanted to enroll at Stanford for Linear Algebra but I heard that there was an age requirement of 16. I am only 14 and I was wondering if there was a way that I could potentially bypass the age requirement.

Thanks for any answers!

You can take upper level math classes through Stanford’s EPGY online program, which is geared toward younger, gifted students.

You would need to apply and fulfill admission requirements (usually proof of testing).

I did not like the EPGY program, even though I am a student at the OHS. I would suggest taking a single course at the OHS, where there are no age requirements. You will probably have to take a placement test though.

pfft. I’m surprised Stanford’s being that way. Actually, I’d be shocked if they didn’t have any actual matriculated students under 16 - they did 15 years ago 9709fea4.html[/url”>http://news.stanford.edu/stanfordtoday/ed/9709/9709fea4.html]9709fea4.html and I’d bet they do now! Can you call the admissions department and ask if they have a high school relations office, or what to do for underage admissions?

Maybe it’s because they do have the EPGY and OHS.

You might consider other local schools. My son took classes at a local community college, so not the same as Stanford, when he was 11, and I know MANY other kids who have done the same.
