My school has an 8 point grading scale, a 6.6 is an A. I calculated that even if my last assignment are all 8’s, I would end with a 6.57, 0.03 from an A.
My grade dropped a bunch after I didn’t turn in an assignment because I thought I could use a “late pass” on. My teacher on the day it was dued said that no late passes were accepted on this assignment. She says she announced this before but everyone I talked to so far didn’t hear her say it. She’s highly organized and hard to approach. There’s 1 week left of school, what should I do?
You could try telling her how much youve loved her class? But most teachers are pretty strict about bumping people up because once she bumps one person up…well you know how that may come back to bite her in the future. Don’t get your hopes up, but good luck
I think you can ask, not for a “bump up” to give you an A, but for her to reconsider.
But I don’t think you’ll get anywhere. If there were extenuating circumstances that caused the assignment to be late, that’s one thing. But if you simply thought it could be late and were wrong, she and I will both call it a lesson learned.
Did you do the assignment anyway? If not, why not? If you can, I would do it and say you understand if they cannot grade it but you would like feedback if possible.
In college and in work you cannot rely on being able to be late at the last minute…you will need to talk to your prof or boss ahead of time and then they can work with you.
