I need a lot of help, please advise

Hello,

I attended a U.C. for 3 years, and did poorly. My GPA is a 2.36 and I have been suspended for 3 years. I have completed all but 2 courses for a degree. I want to go back to community college and start taking classes all over again, and get back on track to transfer to another school. My counselor says it's possible, but that I might not be able to transfer to another U.C. again because of all of the units I've completed as well as the GPA.

Does anyone know if I retook prerequisite classes for another major for 2 years at a community college, are there independent and private universities that will let me transfer over? While not asking me to transfer all of my coursework at the U.C.? Is this possible?

I feel that I am stuck, and cannot think of ways to refresh. Can anyone think of better options? Is there any chance?

Thank you in advance for all of your help.

Your counselor is correct that there are plenty of colleges/universities out there that would admit you once you have demonstrated that you have your act together. However, you won’t know which ones they are until you have begun to specifically search for them. For example, http://www.umuc.edu/index.shtml</a> will accept up to 90 credits in transfer from 4-year institutions.

If you don’t particularly want to change your major, what is keeping you from petitioning your original institution for readmission?
