u just need to find the dividing line between partying/social life and school. im balancing it just fine and its pretty good

partying =/= social life. you can have a social life by doing other things.

Sure there is. Just...keep track of academics and ECs as well.

basically, freshman and sophomore year i could sleep at 8:30 if i wanted to. (I slept at 9). I lived 2 hours away from school so after sports, i got home at 7 too.
junior year was hardest, since i had to get used to APs, but i still slept at 10.
senior year, somehow, with 4 aps, i can sleep at 9.
btw, i wake up at 5 to go to school so i have to sleep early.
homework doesnt take too long. i usually go out on friday nights
and my social life doesn't involve much partying, but i still have fun

I think the OPs idea of partying includes just hanging out with friends, not wild booze-filled parties.

And yes, there is plenty of time.

One of the most important skills you will (hopefully) learn is determining what assignments are important and helpful and what assignments exist because the teacher needs a grade in the homework section and are just busy work, and spending the right amount of time on each.

Depends on the classes you take, but more than that it depends on how much energy you put into really learning the subject vs. just getting an A.

I took relatively easy classes freshman year (2 APs) but I spent HUGE chunks of time studying for them. I'd read my biology book at least twice for every chapter, and the second time I'd take notes on the textbook. For physics I'd do all the odd problems in the book (and for some of the chapters I'd do all the problems period). I think this was quite valuable to me because I ended up learning the subject really well (meaning I still remember the stuff I learned). But of course I only had about one hour of free time every day.

But then I took 7 APs sophomore year (supposedly a much harder schedule) but blew off a lot of my classes. Like for chemistry, I'd just read the textbook, and wouldn't even do any of the problems. And for calculus, I'd only do the problems the teacher assigned, and I'd wait until a day or two before the test before doing them. Needless to say, I had a lot more time to goof off and play computer games. But the year after I didn't remember anything I'd learned. (I still got As, though, so understand that grades =/= knowledge)

I disagree about it depending on what classes you took, I partied the most my junior and senior year even though i was a full ib diploma candiate, meaning 6 ap/ib classes thos two years, these last two years my gpa has actually been high than sop/fresh year because i know how to get things done and yet still have fun...I like the motto, work hard play hard.

Depends on how thug you want to keep it in highschool while still maintaining a good g.p.a. I think you can maintain maximum thug while still having a 3.8, you might have to sacrifice some of your thug to obtain a 4.0 though.

''^ what will happen if you get too caught up with school.

just kidding.

but come on, do you really have to be an online spellchecker? : )''

haha hey i didnt know you had to be too caught up with school to know how to spell loser

I am not into the whole partying thing...I like hanging with my friends.
I have TIME.....but that means I have to stay up later but sometimes you have to blow off homework every now and then just to keep sane.

there is ALOT of time for partying. just be careful to much partying screwed me over my freshman year
