<p>my family and i are looking to spend max 33k/yr, but hopefully financial aid will cover up to that point lol</p>
<p>Well, $33,000 per year will cover the UCs and CSUs as a California resident.</p>
<p>Run the net price calculators to get financial aid estimates so that you know whether you are aiming just for admission, or need to aim for large enough merit scholarships. For example, out of state Georgia Tech at $44,000 or so would be out of reach, unless you got one of the top level merit scholarships there. UT Austin, UIUC, Washington, and Michigan would be similar (if they even have large enough merit scholarships). Also, Washington would be a reach for direct admission to the CS major, due to its small capacity relative to demand.</p>
