Right now I am a freshman with a 3.5 GPA... terrible I know. However, that was due to multiple different reasons. I was wondering if this set of classes would be good enough for me to enter a university like U of M, Yale, Johns Hopkins(huge stretch), or any other well known medical schools. Also assume that I get 1 or 2 B's in the harder classes, AP Calc, etc...

Join or start a medical club at your school (I suggest Future Doctors of America (FDA))
–This allows you to compete and experience medicine with other students and become a leader

Join other clubs to show your area of interest (preferably not academic)

Go to Pre-College Summer Programs (John Hopkins has a great one)

As usual, get a great GPA and SAT

Even with all that, Yale is a reach, but you should reach the others. If you’re in the California area, I would also suggest Stanford’s amazing medical lab summer program for high school students. Good luck!

Youre a freshman, your GPA isnt “horrible”. Just focus on getting good test scores 2200/32 and joining clubs in areas that interest you like woandering mentioned.
