Is this a good schedule for junior year?

So I’m a sophomore now and this year I took english honors, AP Euro, algebra 2 honors, chemistry, spanish language AP, plus electives. Next year my schedule is probably going to be like this:
Honors American Literature
Honors Pre-calculus
AP US History
AP Bio
French 4
Spanish literature (2 years ago I moved to Puerto Rico and it’s a required class here)
Possibly AP Psych, depending on schedule

I’m also planning to self study AP Physics 1 (maybe Physics 2 as well, depending on the material, or I might do physics 1 over the summer and take physics 2 when the year starts) and AP Comparative Government, and then take the exams in May. These aren’t really for college apps but more that I’m interested in these subjects anyway, although I’m hoping that I get 4s or 5s on them anyway for admissions.

Is this a ‘rigorous’ schedule? Should I change anything?

That’s the kind of attitude I love to see. Kudos to you.

And I think your schedule is definitely rigorous enough.

Your schedule will require a lot of work, but if you have a good work ethic, then you should go for it!! I had the same schedule ( well AP classes) and I did sports and it was good, but occasionally stressful. Also, you should ask other people in your school about the classes and the teachers!! Good luck!

Don’t choose your schedule around what colleges want, but if you are legitimately interested in all of this then by all means go for it. Just make sure that you don’t stretch yourself too thin and remember to sleep.

For the most part your schedule looks good, but I would consider taking AP Calc AB before taking AP Physics because my friend took AP physics without Calculus and he was completely lost when he heard the terms “differentiate” and “integrate” in his physics class. Because of this disadvantage he only got a B in AP Physics and he is usually a very strong student.

danm235, thanks for the advice! I’ll talk to my guidance counselor about it, since she should know more about these things. The last I heard the collegeboard changed the AP Physics curriculum pretty recently and Physics 1 and 2 are supposed to be algebra based, so maybe it was Physics C that you’re friend took, or an earlier curriculum? But I’ll keep that all in mind and look into the whole thing more.
