I have a 650 in reading, 750 in math, and 680 in writing? Give me your input. I'm applying to Duke, Cornell, Rice, NYU, Emory, UMich, etc.

I’ve never thought of Duke as an engineering school… That’s probably because I’m in NC and there’s NCSU right here as well…

So do you think I’m competitive?

I have heard of Duke as a good engineering school. But anyway, I do believe you are competitive as long as you have a well-rounded application.

thanks for the input chronicfuture12

Anyone else have any thoughts, oh yeah I also applied to UCLA.

For the colleges you listed, your scores are average. But that doesn’t mean you’re not a competitive applicant. The rest of your application is important (EC’s, GPA, teacher recs, essay, etc.). Good luck!

yes i think you are quite competitive, but not a shoo-in.
Good luck!

I have almost the same score
on SAT, cr-650, m-740 (750 if superscored), w-680
on ACT, e-26, m-36, r-30, s-30 essay-12, e+essay=29
Let’s say I’m applying to Cornell and Carnegie Mellon. Just scorewise, would I be more competitive in the sciences(would I even have a chance?) or in engineering? I’m interested in both, but have a hard time deciding.

anyone???

bump…

It looks like your math scores are higher than your science scores…engineering?
