Is this a good sophomore course selection

I am currently an incoming sophomore serious about getting into a top college. I just want to get your input on the courses I have chosen relative to my college ambitions

My school is on a block schedule meaning I take half my courses for double the time for only one semester

1st semester
AP European History
AP United States I (school divides APUSH curriculum into 2 parts: 1 taken sophomore and 2 taken junior)
Honors Mandarin 3
Honors Algebra 2 and Trigonometry
Peer leadership

2nd semester
Honors English 2
Honors Pre-Calculus
Honors Mandarin 4
Chemistry
Peer leadership
AP European History Seminar (in preparation for the AP test)

The two AP courses I am taking are the only 2 my school offers for sophomores.

Is there an option for Honors Chemistry?

But everything else looks good with all AP’s and Honors classes. I’m assuming Peer Leadership doesn’t have an Honors class.

@rdeng2614 I had initially wanted to take Honors Chemistry, but my intended major is not at all related to the sciences so the head of the science department and my guidance counselor advised I just take regular chemistry. I asked a college counselor I visit out side of school whether or not honors chemistry would be worth it. She said that I should stick with regular chemistry and focus on studying for the ap tests I’m doing on my own and my extracurriculars. I am not to sure about the decision to take regular chemistry myself, but since so many knowledgable people have advised me to do so I’m probably not going to switch to honors.

Ok, that’s fine if you’re sure you’re not doing anything related to the sciences. Your schedule is very rigorous and should be enough for top colleges.
